The area is great for walking and hiking.The Windermere, Grasmere and Ullswater are considered the prettiest of the lakes but if you want to avoid the crowds then we suggest you head to the following lakes: Wast Water, Crummock Water or Buttermere. The Lake District is home to England’s Highest peak – Scafell Pike (3 209ft). There is a range of activities which include walking, hiking, cycling, bird watching, lake cruises, shopping, galleries, museums and water sports. There really is something for everyone.
