Leeds Castle

This famous castle, situated in Kent, has been used by Kings and Queens of England throughout the ages perhaps most famously by King Henry VIII who brought his wife, Catherine of Aragon, here to stay. The castle, which resides on two islands on the River Len, has been here for more than 900 years. The castle and its grounds are hugely popular attracting people to view the sumptuous interiors and wonderful
gardens. Springtime, in particular, is a lovely time to visit the gardens with the mass of bulbs and wild flowers that pop up in the Wood Garden making for a spectacular show. This picture postcard castle enchants you from the moment you cross the stone bridge (originally a wooden drawbridge) into the courtyard. Leeds Castle also has world renowned aviaries which are part of an important breeding programme.
The moat and waterways around the castle attract swans  as peacock wander through the grounds itself.

There are many things to do while you are here but perhaps one of the most exhilarating is the chance of taking to a Hot Air Balloon. Flights go from shortly after sunrise or just before sunset. The flight will take you over the beautiful "Garden of England" - Kent. Flights are available between April 1st to November 1st. Group flights or VIP flights for 2 are available. To book call: 01622 873200

In the spring of 2010 the brand new 'World of Wings' show comes to Leeds Castle. This show will bring superb free flying bird displays featuring birds from five different continents. The shows will take place twice a day and will include Black Kites, a Bald Eagle, parrots, macaws, storks, as well as the traditional falcons.
