Verulamium Park - named after the Roman City of Verulamium on which it stands; is 100 acres of park grounds including a lake, views of the beautiful Abbey, Roman remains which include the City walls and outline of the London Gate.
There is also the Verulamium Museum which has hundreds of objects excavated from the ground on display, beautiful Roman mosaics and much more.

The park attracts sports enthusiasts, dog walkers, people out for a relaxing stroll, couples taking a romantic walk around the lake; families pointing out the different ducks to their children and people who just like to take some time to watch the world go by as they sit back on one of the many benches dotted about the park.
You will be spoilt for choice for food and beverages; you can pick from the lovely Inn in the Park which is open all year round and seven days a week; numerous pubs and eating places in the area, including the Waffle House and Ye Olde Fighting Cocks which is reputed to be the oldest pub in England by The Guinness Book of Records – or why not bring along a picnic?
There are many events which take place in the park during the year and these range from sporting events, family events, music events – the firework display in November is particularly spectacular and attracts over 20 000 people.
On the grounds of the park you will also find the Abbey Theatre, Roman Hypocaust, Leisure Centre, Golf Course, sports pitches and changing facilities, tennis courts and basketball / Netball court.
