The East Midlands includes the following counties Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire, Leicestershire, (including Rutland), Lincolnshire and Northamptonshire.

The regions’ key towns are Lincoln, Nottingham, Bedford, Ely, and Northampton. The largest city and the capital of the East Midlands is Nottingham.

The East Midlands is also the fourth largest region in England with areas of outstanding beauty such as the Peak District, the history of Robin Hood, Silverstone for racing, castles and gardens, it has everything to offer. Regardless of what type of break you are after, be it adventure, relaxing, city break, exploring the rich heritage the East Midlands has to offer, you will find it within this region.

Places of mention when exploring the great outdoors of the East Midlands includes the National Forest with over 500 miles of trails for walking, cycling and hiking. The beauty of the Peak District, with fantastic scenery and an abundance of accommodation. Rutland water - 3,100-acre reservoir which is the largest man-made lake in Western Europe. For all you nature lovers, the 430 hectares of Gibraltar Point National Nature Reserve along the coast.
