Dublin Region

When referring to Dublin Region we are not just talking about Dublin City but also the suburban areas that run adjacent and include Dun Laoghaire-Rathdown, Fingal and South Dublin. Of course our immediate thoughts turn to Dublin City the capital and largest city in the Republic of Ireland. The city is located on the east coast of Ireland in the centre of the Dublin Region.

Dublin has been a capital city since mediaevel times and was originally a centre for the Viking slave trade.With such a rich heritage Dublin City is full of historical and cultural charm and is an extremely popular city break attracting thousands of visitors every year. The centre of Dublin City has a multitude of hip and trendy bars, fine restaurants and an eclectic mix of shops and hotels. Of course one of the top attractions is the Guinness Brewery located at St.James' Gate Brewery where it has resided since 1759.

Fingal

Just on the outskirts of Dublin City is Fingal. Fingal offers something for everyone with scenic coastal villages with lovely sandy beaches and stunning coastline to quaint hamlets in wonderful countryside. On top of this you will find busy towns offering great accommodation, welcoming pubs and restaurants offering excellent food.

Dun Laoghaire - Rathdown

If you are looking for a real balance between relaxation and an activity holiday then Dun Laoghaire-Rathdown which is located just south of Dublin City is a perfect place to visit. Here you will find vibrant towns and rolling countryside with lots of lovely villages and towns to explore. The coastline here is superb and offers someone a chance to just relax or enjoy many of the outdoor pursuits on offer.

South Dublin County

Again this spot is great for mixing relaxation with action. There are numerous attractions on offer to while away the day or to exert yourself. The countryside offers some great places to stay and explore this wonderful area.
